About this gallery

Located on the eastern side of NH 47 at a distance of 18 km north of Trivandrum. The name of the temple seems to have emerged from the progenitor of the temple, Kalakkoth maharishi (sage). Archaeologists have assigned a date of 9th century to the sthanaka murti of Vishnu in the sub-shrine located in the north east corner of the campus.
